Planning Secured for St Andrew’s House, Cambridge

Lateral has secured planning consent from Cambridge City Council for the conversion of St Andrew’s House, marking the next step in our strategy to deliver a new generation of science and technology space in the heart of the city.
The approved plans will see St Andrew’s House transformed into a highly flexible platform capable of accommodating a full spectrum of science and technology occupiers — from dry labs and engineering space to fully fitted wet labs. Designed to be adaptable and future-proof, the scheme will support companies as they evolve, helping them scale research, innovation and commercial activity without leaving the city centre.
Located alongside Radio House, the project forms part of Lateral’s growing Cambridge portfolio, reinforcing our commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive environments that connect talent, research and enterprise. Works are due to commence later this month, with practical completion scheduled for early Q3 2026.
For Lateral, this milestone reflects our belief in the power of urban integration — bringing science and technology into the heart of cities where ideas, people and opportunity naturally converge.
