Lateral shortlisted for Estates Gazette Awards 2025 – Life Sciences Deal of the Year

We are proud to announce that Lateral has been shortlisted for Life Sciences Deal of the Year at the Estates Gazette Awards 2025 for the landmark Camley Street regeneration scheme in Camden.

Camley Street is a defining project for London’s science and tech sectors, bringing together Camden Council, Lateral, and Ballymore in a pioneering public-private partnership. The scheme will deliver over 620,000 sq ft of mixed-use space, with more than 250,000 sq ft dedicated to science, technology, and high-tech industrial uses, alongside 400 new homes (50% affordable), extensive public realm, and community infrastructure.

What sets Camley Street apart is its ambition to create a hyper-flexible, ecosystem-driven innovation platform in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter. Designed to support a wide spectrum of science and technology occupiers — from AI and TechBio to quantum hardware and medtech manufacturing — it is also underpinned by inclusive initiatives such as The Mixer, a civic hub for science engagement, and the STEM For Life programme, creating clear pathways into careers for local communities.

Camley Street represents a bold step in values-led regeneration, delivered through a partnership that combines Camden’s civic vision with Lateral’s expertise as both science and technology specialists and placemakers, alongside Ballymore’s track record in regeneration. Together, this ensures public land delivers long-term social and economic value while creating a world-class platform for science, technology, living, and community inclusion.
